Below, please find the duties, outline of responsibilities and expections of the position.

 

Shampoologist

 

The shampoologist is another key ingredient in how the salon operates. The salon cannot survive without consistency in this department. The shampoologist should provide our clientele with comfort, relaxation, and confidence.

 

Qualifications

· Licensed Cosmetologist

· Pleasant, people-pleasing personality

· Fashionable

· Dependable

· Prompt at all times

· Organized

· Willing to take direction with enthusiasm and flexibility

· Strong back, proper posture, and strong hands

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· The shampoologist must arrive no later then thirty (30) minutes before the first client of the day

· Assist receptionist in the morning with his or her duties

· When not shampooing, maintain the dispensary and the other areas in the salon

· Shampoo following manufacturer’s directions, and also the directions from the stylist

· Keep towels and capes in good condition

· Alert management when it is necessary to update any supply needed

· At the end of the day, use sanitizer and clean the shampoo bowls, chairs, and dryers, clean bowls with glass cleaner, dry, and use leather cleaner on the chairs, empty baskets, close and wipe down cabinets making them streak-free, sanitize counter, clean hot-wax machine, sanitize colour processing units and dryer heads, organize perm rods/foils, and close carts

· Attend all necessary staff meetings

· Assist and attend all salon community functions and activities

· Work in compliance with all State of Michigan Acts, Rules, and Regulations from State Board

 

Appearance

· Hair and make-up is to be in order before arriving to work

· Keep hair style current, as well as colour

· Use gloves and smocks when necessary for a professional appearance

· Shoes shined and polished, and in style, but appropriate for support

· Clothing should be appropriate and stylish

 

Performance Standards

· Maintain a consistent quality of work in all duties and responsibilities

· Comply with all company policies

· Use back-bar supplies efficiently

· Above all, smile– your job depends on it!
